Frédéric Chopin was the best known advocate of Pleyel pianos, and performing his works on Pleyel pianos makes them appear in a different light. This realisation inspired the Egri & Pertis Duo to set up their CD program called "Chopiniana". All of Chopin's duo and duet compositions and also his sonata in b-flat minor composed for piano solo, brilliantly adapted by Saint-Saëns for two pianos, can be heard on this CD.

"In my opinion, the Chopiniana recording is the culmination so far of the Egri-Pertis Duo's artistic work, and it will -- hopefully -- meet with similarly favourable reception in the profession as well as among the general public."
(Sztereo - Katalin Fittler, September 2000)
