Independently of the double grand CD series, the Egri & Pertis Duo have also continued to record on "regular" pianos, as demonstrated by their "Inspirations" CD published in 2002, which presents Franz Liszt's two-piano and piano duet pieces inspired by themes of other composers. The Grand Concert Piece composed on the motives of the well-known "Songs without Words" (Mendelssohn), which the duo reconstructed and learned from Liszt's damaged manuscripts, is an absolute sensation of this CD. This grand fantasia is complemented by Liszt's version of Schubert marches, also presented as first recordings, and the popular Rákóczi March. |
